Artistic Competition - The 2003 Ambassadors' Prize/ Prix Artistique 2003 - Les Ambassadeurs English version - (French version below)

Created as a link between artists and the world around them, Emergent Artist Promotions is an association promoting living artists that annually sponsors a competition with an international theme. This international competition focuses on graphic arts, including painters, lithographers and others, with limitations on age or national origin. The artists are invited to present themselves as 'ambassadors' and defend the intrisic values of their cultures, their regions and their esthetics.

Each candidate may present for consideration a maximum of three artworks, with a maxium format of 70 X 100 cm. The theme of this year's Ambassadors' competition is representation of 'Folklore and/or popular music and song.'

A prestigious jury will select 10 finalists out of the candidate pool. The 10 finalists will be exhibited at the DECOURTENAY GALLERIES, rue des fripiers 41, B-7000 Mons (Belgium) from the 5 - 23 April, 2003. On the 5th of April the Ambassadors' Prize in the amount of 1000 Euros, as well as the DECOURTENAY Prize, in the amount of 500 Euros, will be awarded.

All candidates must submit their bulletins of participation by March 15, 2003 at the latest. Candidates artwork must be submitted prior to March 31, 2003, and must be reclaimed by the artists by April 23, 2003 at the Decourtenay Galleries, 41 rues des fripiers in Mons.To receive bulletins of participation, the competition rules, or any additional information, feel free to address the secretariat for the competition at EAP, chaussée de Bruxelles, 67, B-7061 Casteau, Belgium.

Conçue comme une passerelle entre les artistes et le monde, Emergent Artist Promotions est une association promotrice d'art actuel, qui organise annuellement un concours international thématique. Ce Concours international s’adresse aux plasticiens, sans limitation d’âge ou d’origine. Ils auront la faculté de se présenter en ambassadeurs et défendre les valeurs intrinsèques de leurs cultures, de leurs régions, de leur esthétisme. Les candidats présenteront au max. 3 oeuvres de format maximal 100X70. sur le support de leur choix. Le thème imposé pour cette édition : "Folklore ou chanson populaire" a été retenu.

Un jury de prestige retiendra 10 lauréats qui seront présentés au public aux Decourtenay Galleries, 41 rue des fripiers à 7000 Mons (Belgique) du 5 au 23 avril 2003. Le 5 avril étant la date de la remise du PRIX DES AMBASSADEURS d’un montant de 1000 euros et du PRIX DECOURTENAY doté de 500 euros.

Les inscriptions seront cloturées le 15 mars. Les oeuvres devront parvenir au plus tard le 31 mars et être retirées avant le 23 avril aux Decourtenay Galleries, 41 rue des fripiers à Mons.
